Liberty supports the global campaign of promoting the profession of a teacher

On October 5, World Teachers' Day, the ongoing "Teacher's National Award" competition initiated by the Education Coalition ended and Roland Shavadze became the national award winner.

It has been six years now since Liberty annually awards the ten best teachers who win the National Teacher Award. Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Education Coalition and Liberty, Liberty has doubled the special prize fund established for the best ten teachers in 2021.

"An essential direction of the corporate responsibility strategy of Liberty is the promotion of education and popularization of the profession of a teacher.

The goal of our team is to contribute to the improvement of people's lives and we believe that education is the foundation of human freedom. An educated society is the key to the success of a country. On behalf of Liberty, we thank the teachers for their invaluable work and for performing their job with love. We congratulate the ten winners and wish them success in the publicly important work of educating future generations" - Tapi Zakariadze, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility Direction of Liberty.

The National Teacher Award was established on May 13, 2017, based on the memorandum signed between the Education Coalition, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the National Center for Teacher Professional Development. This initiative is being implemented in Georgia for the sixth time and is part of the global campaign - "The Global Teacher Prize"- aimed at popularizing teachers.

The general sponsor of the competition is Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation, the golden sponsor is Liberty Bank.

Supporters are the Ministry of Education and Science, National Center for Teacher Professional Development, Ilia State University, EPAM Georgia, Consultation and Training Center (CTC), First Channel, TeleSchool, and digital-creative agency "Maverick".
