Liberty became the strategic partner of the International Collegiate Programming Championship (ICPC) among higher education institutions.

With the support and strategic partnership of Liberty Bank, Akaki Tsereteli State University of Kutaisi is hosting the semi-finals of the International Collegiate Programming Championship among higher education institutions and the South Caucasus Open Championship.

This year, 47 teams, including 14 from Armenia, 16 from Azerbaijan, and 17 from Georgia, qualified for the ICPC semi-finals. Up to 10 strong teams will also participate in the South Caucasus Open Championship. The semi-finals of the ICPC will be held on December 7 simultaneously in St. Petersburg, Almaty, Kutaisi, and Barnaul. On December 8, the personal competition of the South Caucasus Open Championship will be held, where some of the best student programmers from Ukraine will be admitted remotely.

“In Kutaisi, at Akaki Tsereteli State University, the semi-finals of the ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest of the 2022-2023 season are being held for the teams of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia that are included in the Northern Eurasia Regional Contest (NERC). On the same day, at the same time, accompanied by a common monitor, this competition will be held at three more competition grounds, which are arranged in Almaty (Kazakhstan), Barnaul, and St. Petersburg. The total number of teams participating in the semi-finals of the International Championship from these competition fields will exceed 240. This semi-final zone covers most of the post-Soviet space (excluding Ukraine, Moldova, and the Baltics) and is definitely the strongest of the international semi-final zones. Suffice it to say that for more than 15 years now, half of the International Championship medals have gone to representatives of this zone. Obviously, systematic participation in strong team competitions has a beneficial effect on all participants and contributes to the growth of their professional level.” – Theodore Zarkua, Director of the Competition, Professor at the European University.

"Liberty chose education and support of the young generation as the priority direction of corporate social responsibility. We believe that this championship will identify many talented young people who will continue their activities in the field of programming in leading companies in the country, including our bank. We hope that outstanding students will take the first career steps with Liberty and get work experience in one of the largest employing companies in the country." – Tornike Benidze, IT Director of Liberty.
