The project envisages bringing modern literature and recent translations to the spot for children and teenagers living in the mountains and in this way instilling a love for reading among teenagers.
The goal of the project is that not a single child in the highland villages is left without their most precious gift - a book.
Through the friendship of "Liberty" and "Mountain Books", even in the most difficult-to-reach villages in the mountainous regions of Georgia, children will not be left without the books they want. We are very proud of the fact that the founder of the organization "Mountain Books" - Giorgi Kiviladze - is an employee of Liberty.
The corporate responsibility strategy of Liberty involves promoting education, so we are ready to contribute to the important work of promoting reading together with "Mountain Books". – Tamar Zakariadze, Head of Corporate Responsibility of Liberty.
"During one year, we visited the villages of Zemo and Kvemo Svaneti, Racha, Lechkhumi, and Akhmeta districts and gave the desired books to more than 1000 children and 43 school libraries. We are glad that Liberty joined the initiative of the "Mountain Books" and with their support, we will be able to cover much more regions.
By partnering with Liberty, the scale of our project will increase significantly, allowing us to give more children the book they dream of. It is clear from our travels that a book is the most valuable gift and knowledge has the greatest power." – Levan Varamashvili, the co-founder of the “Mountain Books”
About the "Mountain Books":
The "Mountain Books" is a group of friends that was introduced to the public a year ago. They call themselves passengers of the "red all-terrain vehicle" and try not to leave a single child without a gift in the highland villages! They bring them the most valuable gift - a book.
