Liberty Bank became a supporter of the "Europe is Home" campaign

Liberty Bank became a supporter of the "Europe is Home" campaign. The campaign responds to the Georgian government's strategy for 2017-2020 on communication between Georgia and the European Union. In particular, one of the main messages:

"Georgia's accession process to the European Union and NATO contributes to creating a secure and competitive environment necessary for the rapid development of the country" and the following tasks:

  • Managing public expectations about EU and NATO membership;
  • Demonstrate the advantages, benefits and opportunities of Georgia's membership in the European Union and NATO by providing easy access to objective information and ensuring its accessibility to the population of the country.

The campaign is part of the “Partnership for Migrants Rights” project, which has been implemented by the non-governmental organization Sida since January 2017 with the support of the Open Society Foundations and the aim of which is not only informing population on visa-free regime, but also protecting the rights of migrants who flew from Georgia, supporting the fulfillment of state project and monitoring in the sphere of migration.

Liberty Bank is represented with the largest service network in the Georgian market and serves more than 1.5 million customers. By participating in this campaign, Liberty Bank, as a socially responsible financial organization, which due to its financial activities is constantly involved in serving the most vulnerable segment of the country (pensioners, vulnerable people, etc.), will take an active part in informing the population about visa-free travel. In parallel with the financial education project for the population of the country, which Liberty Bank intends to launch in November this year, will provide information on visa-free travel to the population.

At the initial stage, meetings will be held with the population of one of the cities populated by ethnic minorities in the Kvemo Kartli region and one of the villages in the Shida Kartli region, which directly borders the occupied territory of this part of the country.

In the next step, the information will be disseminated throughout the network of Liberty Bank, ie throughout the country.

As part of the campaign, Liberty Bank trainers will hold meetings to enable citizens to watch videos on visa-free travel, undocumented migration and reintegration. Liberty Bank service facilities will also provide information leaflets on the topic.

"I am glad that, as a representative of Liberty Bank, I can get involved in the information campaign on visa-free travel to EU countries. It is difficult to attach more importance to this issue than it already has. I mean not only informing the population about visa-free travel, but also the protection of the rights of our fellow citizens, migrants leaving Georgia, which is very important not only to protect the rights of these people, but also to recognize our country as a full member of the European family. Liberty Bank is the first financial institution to engage in such a campaign, however, hopefully our example will be a role model as striving for progress is contagious. It is very important for everyone to understand - Europe is really our home. "- Revaz Baghaturia, Head of Commercial Optimization Department of Liberty Bank.
